Dog's are great at catching balls, and hunting. But, they are also good at swimming If trained properly. This article will show you how to teach your dog to swim.
1.Find, a perfect area for your dog to swim. A good place to swim would be a pool, or a lake. Don't try a river. River's are too deep and will flood. Also find a swimming place that allows dogs, and will accept them.
2.Do your homework: Make sure you bring a ball, and some doggie treats.
3.Get your dog used to the water. You can start by throwing a ball into the swimming area to get your dog used to swimming. If your dog goes in the water to get the ball, reward him with a Dog treat. Keep repeating the exercise, until you see that your dog is getting used to the water.
4.After, your dog is getting used to the water. It's time to teach your dog how to really swim. Put the ball away, and go in the pool or lake. Tell your dog to come in and join you, just don't be mean or firm. Start swimming so your dog can get and learn the method. Take a doggie treat and wave it, your dog might come in.
