Know your dog. If it can be aggressive sometimes, then you probably want to have gentle contact.
When you come to see your dog, call him or her in a friendly way, for example,
“Hey there buddy!”
If they have sharp nails you can trim them or you can wear a long sleeve shirt and pants to avoid scratches.
Practice some tricks with your dog. Then praise it with a treat or a nice pat and saying “Good dog!” or “Good boy/girl!”
Play fetch with it with a ball, stick, or frisbee.
Try walking it around the neighborhood or running around with your playful pup outside.
Be the one to feed it.
If you have a dog that likes to swim, then take it to a river, lake or beach and let it swim and have fun.
Start playing tug-a-war with a toy or rope. Give them one side of the object and while pulling the other end but if u have a pup take it easy.
